5/5 - watching #hisdarkmaterials reminded me that I never read the final book in this trilogy. So I started from the beginning as I was foggy on the first two books. As always, Pullman writes an enchanting and inventive yarn, despite me not being a YA fan I love these books

I loved these books since the first time I read them and read them to my son as soon as he was old enough to understand. We watched the first season of this and never picked it up again. I just finished it and cried more than I'd like to admit. It is a fantastic adaptation. #hisdarkmaterials

Last book of the second trilogy: less of a ripping yarn than the first trilogy, and the wildly fractal inventiveness is toned down. Still enjoyable, but more in a filling-in-the-lore way, and a nice conclusion to Lyraβs story.

#HisDarkMaterials Season 3 #BBC/#HBO 4/5. For me, this was a good finale to the series. I especially liked #JamesMcAvoy's portrayal of #LordAsriel, who in some ways acts as horrid as the villain to achieve his goal. The #Metatron stuff needed development. Sweet ending.

#HisDarkMaterials Season 2 #BBC/#HBO 4/5. #DafneKeen did a good job as #Lyra continuing her path while dealing with the aftermath of last season. The entwining of Lyra and Will comes to play here, which brings developments like the knife. Great, especially for young adults.

#HisDarkMaterials Season 1 #BBC/#HBO 4/5. #DafneKeen carried this show very well and handled herself well amongst the star studded cast with the likes of #JamesMcAvoy plus #RuthWilson. The animation of the demons on a TV scale was quite good. Ideal for teens and above.
