Dr. Yot Teerawattananon from HITAP joined Prof. Nan Luo (NUS), Dr. Morii Yasuhiro (Center for Outcomes Research and Economic Evaluation for Health: C2H), and Prof. Jeonghoon Ahn (Ewha Womans University) in Sharing Session 2 at #HTAsiaLink2025 to discuss the Asia-Preference-Based Measure-7 Dimension (AP-7D)—a novel, region-specific preference-based measure (PBM) developed by HTAsiaLink and the Center for Outcomes Research and Economic Evaluation for Health (C2H) in Japan. The AP-7D aims to better reflect values relevant to Asian populations. The session focused ongoing valuation surveys across countries and the recent updates on AP-7D, paving the way for a deeper understanding of how health preferences differ across the region and how these insights can inform HTA and policy decisions.

Dr. Wanrudee Isaranuwatchai (HITAP), along with Prof. Mark Jit (New York University) and Prof. Alex Cook (NUS), speakers at Sharing Session 1 at #HTAsiaLink2025, explored how epidemiological models can guide policy for emerging and pandemic infectious diseases. The session also highlighted the need for clear standards in evidence and reporting to make models more useful for health technology assessment (HTA) and policy decisions. Stronger standards mean better evidence and greater impact for populations across Asia. Stay tuned for HITAP’s contribution at the HTAsiaLink Conference 2025.

How can we ensure that patients with kidney failure receive life-saving care under Universal Health Coverage (UHC), and that policies are grounded in evidence? At today’s HTAsiaLink 2025 pre-conference, HITAP hosted the workshop “Addressing Kidney Failure under UHC: How to Conduct Economic Evaluation to Inform Policy” to explore this question. Facilitated by Khansa, the workshop guided participants through generating economic evidence for kidney replacement therapy in end-stage kidney disease—starting with Brandon on defining decision problems, Siobhan on selecting approaches and models, and Chotika on data inputs for economic evaluations. The interactive format invited participants to share perspectives and experiences, helping link best-practice guidelines with local contexts to inform stronger policy decisions. This session underscores HITAP’s role in advancing evidence-informed across the region.
