What If Spring Never Came? Bible Chat – Habakkuk 3:1-18

What if spring never came?
What if the fig tree did not blossom?

Habakkuk faced collapse and declared, “Yet I will rejoice in the LORD.”

Defiant faith. Covenant joy. Hope in crisis.

I am not #Self-Realized like #Jeremiah. I do see like #Habakkuk. Thus I bitterly protest and beyond to the #Divine. To my exhaustion. No longer to my shame. If I cannot speak plainly to my #Maker than I am still running from Him. I have nothing to fear from speaking truth at any time. Not with #God.

“They are guilty men, whose own strength is their god.” — Habakkuk 1:11
Russia, America, and all nations must hear Habakkuk’s warning: when power becomes a god, downfall follows.
The righteous will live by faith, not might.

“They are guilty men, whose own strength is their god.” — Habakkuk 1:11
Conservative evangelicals — and every nation — must beware the sin of Babylon: worshiping strength instead of God.
True power is faith, not force.

🔥 Sermon: “Like Babylon, They Are Never Satisfied” — Habakkuk 2:4-5

> “The Babylonians are very proud.
What they want is not good.
But the person who is godly will live by faithfulness.
Wine makes them do foolish things.
They are proud… they are never satisfied.
They gather all nations to themselves.” — Habakkuk 2:4-5

Prideful leaders always return to the same sin: control.
Like Babylon, they boast, “I will gather nations, I will rule them, I will make them mine.”
Whether by war, wealth, or false religion, they chase domination while claiming divine purpose.

We see this spirit again when men dream of empires — when rulers like Trump speak of “gathering nations” or claiming lands like Greenland as trophies. It is the same hunger Habakkuk warned of — a desire to play god.

But God says, “The person who is godly will live by faith.”
Not by conquest.
Not by greed.
Not by pride.

The faithful don’t gather nations for themselves — they gather souls for peace.
✝️ “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” — Matthew 5:9

💔 “The Law Can’t Do What It’s Supposed to Do” — Habakkuk 1:4

Habakkuk’s words sound like our own headlines:

> “People are harming others. They are arguing and fighting all the time. The law can’t do what it’s supposed to do.”

When justice is twisted by pride and truth is drowned out by noise, we see the same spirit that moved through Babylon — and through every generation that worships its own strength instead of God’s mercy.

Today, conservative false prophets defend cruelty in the name of “law and order,” but the prophet reminds us: a law without compassion is powerless. A faith without love is dead.

True justice flows from the heart of God, not from those who weaponize His name.
✝️ “Let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream.” — Amos 5:24

🔥 Sermon Post: Conservative False Prophets — “Worshiping Their Own Strength” (Habakkuk 1)

“Then they go on their way; they are guilty; their strength is their god.” — Habakkuk 1:11

False prophets rise today preaching nationalism as salvation, power as proof of faith, and pride as virtue.
Like Babylon, they worship their own strength instead of God’s truth.
They promise revival but sow division.
They call their politics holy and their hate righteous.

Habakkuk’s warning echoes now: when people trade the living God for idols of power, judgment begins in the house of the Lord.
True faith does not trust in armies, governments, or preachers of pride — it trusts in the Lord alone.

Where Is God (2025), Week 2: Challenging Answers, Habakkuk 1:5-11, Sunday, August 24, 2025 Lawyers are told never to ask a witness a question publically, if they do not already know the answer.  Habakkuk did not follow that advice.  God gives an answer that changed the prophet’s world view.  What does this response teach us about our own world view?
