Resting atop black rocks covered in brownish-yellow barnacles and black mussels, a harbor seal lifts its tail and head into the air. Its head is facing up and slightly backward, and given this photo is from behind the seal, it's facing toward the camera. Its front flipper/hand is scratching its cheek.
