1. Top Vehicles - Gina’s VW Beetle – my dream car. I’ve loved this car since I first saw it. It replaced the Isetta at the right time, when Gina was more grownup & established as the pub licensee. One day I hope it’ll join my A40, that would make me very happy! #HeartbeatCountdown 🤍
4. Top Vehicles - Jackie’s Sunbeam Alpine – it replaced the Imp at the right time & really suited Jackie, who was doing well in her career at the time. A beautiful car with a lovely engine sound. One I’d really love to own & Fiona Dolman loved it too. #HeartbeatCountdown 💚
5. Top Vehicles - Gina’s Isetta – totally iconic! Such a famous Heartbeat car & so suited to a younger Gina. Two were used & although I prefer the second, I have driven the first (which was fun even though the exhaust fell off!) Always looked fab on screen. #HeartbeatCountdown ❤️
6. Top Vehicles - Ashfordly Ford Anglia MVN478C – the original Ashfordly Anglia. Loved it and its introduction episode. How can anyone not love an Anglia? I’m pretty gutted that it’s no longer presented as a police car, but am glad it’s survived! #HeartbeatCountdown 🖤
7. Top Vehicles - Helen’s Citroen DS Safari – very quirky and although not completely in-keeping with the era, I think it looked good onscreen and suited Helen. I love that Sophie Ward was a big fan of driving it too. Lots of screen time. #HeartbeatCountdown 💛
8. Top Vehicles - Ashfordly Panda Ford Anglia LTT930F – the original panda with its lovely red interior. It marked a move forward in the show’s police vehicles. A survivor today and thoroughly lovely. #HeartbeatCountdown 🩵
9. Top Vehicles - Maggie’s Land Rover – I loved Maggie’s entrance in it and it really suited her. It always looked the part on screen and was a bit more rough and ready than Carol’s. Lots of screen time too. #HeartbeatCountdown
10. Top Vehicles - Blaketon’s Ford Anglia 100e – another I’d like to find and own!
It suited Blaketon & I am told that Derek Fowlds wasn’t great at driving it! Lots of screen time and some good scenes, particularly in ‘Peace & Quiet’. #HeartbeatCountdown 🖤
11. Top Vehicles - MG double - Nick & Neil’s MGs. I love them both equally. I loved how Nick’s was part of a storyline & how it had so many scenes. Neil’s is equally as nice, but not in as many scenes, which also disappointed David Michaels who played him #HeartbeatCountdown ❤️🤍
13. Top Vehicles - Carol’s Land Rover – a beautiful Land Rover. It always looked good on screen and really suited Carol. I have driven it and loved it, and I know Lisa Kay loved it too! Really, really lovely and a #HeartbeatVehicleRally regular. #HeartbeatCountdown 💙
14. Top Vehicles - Sergeant Miller’s Rover – a suitable replacement for the Anglia that Miller used, and crashed, before the Rover came along. This suited him much better and is a genuine ex-Police car, which I have been lucky enough to drive. #HeartbeatCountdown 🖤
15. Top Vehicles - Claude’s truck – completely iconic and one of the most recognisable Heartbeat vehicles. Not higher up on the list because I prefer cars, but I do really like this one as it is so symbolic of Heartbeat and instantly recognisable. #HeartbeatCountdown ❤️
16. Top Vehicles - Jackie’s Hillman Imp – super cute and a good choice for Jackie as her first car. It had a few nice scenes, but could have had more. Replaced at the right time & then re-invented as Mike’s gold coloured CID car. #HeartbeatCountdown 🩵
17. Top Vehicles - Peggy’s Austin Goodwood – perfect for Peggy. It’s like the car version of her really, and I feel privileged that I have driven it. An amazing old vehicle, which sounds glorious and is almost 90 years old! #HeartbeatCountdown 💙
18. Top Vehicles - Dennis Merton’s Rover P4 – very smart and it suited Dennis. It had some nice scenes and Dennis both arrived and left in it. It’s currently awaiting restoration, which is good news. #HeartbeatCountdown ❤️
19. Top Vehicles - Nick’s Frances Barnett – this was so synonymous of the earlier episodes and of PC Nick Rowan. Mike used it briefly and it was the right decision to upgrade him to the BSA.
If I could own a #Heartbeat motorbike, it would be this one. #HeartbeatCountdown ❤️
20. Top Vehicles - Mike’s Triumph Bonneville – very smart and very Mike. I loved his entrance on this bike, which is my favourite character entrance in the show. I’m not a bike person, but this is a beauty. #HeartbeatCountdown ❤️
1. Julie T Wallace as Sweaty Betty Such-Just brilliant! She never fails to make me laugh& ‘Father’s Day’ - where we saw her first - is my funniest episode. I’m so looking forward to meeting Julie at the #HeartbeatVehicleRally this year! A true Heartbeat legend. #HeartbeatCountdown 🩷
2. Frances De La Tour as the Honourable Tessa Blundell – Fabulous! A perfect episode & a perfect person to play Claude’s love interest. Seeing her leave & our Claude being so distraught was so sad! A top Heartbeat storyline & guest. Wonderful! #HeartbeatCountdown 🩷
3. Anne Reid as Marjorie Doubleday – One of my favourite actresses & perfectly cast as Majorie, who I think we could have seen again. I liked her clucking over soppy Eric & how she became nicer at the end. I liked Anne starring as Jo’s auntie Alison too. #HeartbeatCountdown 🩷
4. Patricia Hayes as Flo – A hugely fun character who really made me laugh. I love her scenes with Claude, her bath in the river (!) & her moving scenes with Kate. I’m still mad with Joe Norton for burning down her caravan. A super character, loved her. #HeartbeatCountdown #HeartbeatGuestStar 🩷
5. Dora Bryan as Jane Thompson – Funny, vulnerable & strong. I love the episode & Dora was perfect for Jane. I liked her cheeky scene with Claude, her love of her garden & how she escaped from the nursing home to go back to her own home. #HeartbeatCountdown #HeartbeatGuestStar 🩷
6. Melanie Kilburn as Rosie Tinniswood – Loud, brash, common and brilliant! Loved her. Her awful clothes and her speaking her mind. Loved it when she came to the police house and Nick turned around and copped an eyeful in her extremely low-cut top! #HeartbeatCountdown 🧡
7. Phyllida Law as Nancy Bellow - Creepy and vulnerable and I love how even at the end of the episode there was still an air of mystery about her. I love the fact that I now have the funeral urn that she threw! #HeartbeatCountdown #HeartbeatGuestStar 🩷
8. James Hazeldine as Reg Manston – He played the distraught farmer perfectly, in what is probably the ultimate Heartbeat episode. Simply fantastic. #HeartbeatCountdown #HeartbeatGuestStar 💙
9. Gwenllian Davies as Enid Craddock – So funny! I loved her insulting Sgt Craddock with her quick put downs and also her scenes with Claude. She definitely should have come back! A fabulous character. #HeartbeatCountdown #HeartbeatGuestStar 🩷
10. Annette Crosbie as Penelope Stirling – Almost two characters! The conniving antique dealing thief and local do-gooder. Loved the episode and loved the character. #HeartbeatCountdown #HeartbeatGuestStar 🩷
11. Anna Calder Marshall as Claire Mercer – A favourite episode of mine and I think we could really feel how distraught Mrs Mercer was. Lovely scenes with Kate Rowan and a great episode. #HeartbeatCountdown #HeartbeatGuestStar 🩷
12. Simon Ward as Maxwell Hamilton – Perfect casting for Helen’s father, Sophie Ward’s real-life father. Really moving scenes between them and a super episode (with crazy weather continuity!), my favourite in series 15. #HeartbeatCountdown #HeartbeatGuestStar 💙
13. Jane Hazlegrove as Bero Man/Marion Flax – Loved Bero Man! Great fight scenes between Jane & Kazia & a genuinely eery character, who was contrasted by the lonely & trapped Marion. I think Bero Man is a Heartbeat legend! #HeartbeatCountdown #HeartbeatGuestStar 🩷
