4.5* Murder at Midwinter Farm is another wonderful instalment of the Miss Underhay series. Much like the others it gives us a great blend of cosy historical crime with a wintry setting which makes the mystery feel both festive and tense. As always on offer is a great mix of sharp plotting, gentle humour and loveable characters. The isolated farm setting adds a classic whodunnit vibe with plenty of secrets, tension and suspense with the added personal touch of concern for whether Alice and Robert will want to settle in their future home. This is warm, witty and well plotted and is another high quality addition to what has been a consistently enjoyable and favourite series of mine.
