I am fairly new to #helpolsky so hello.
A Reddit post by u/RainBoyThat Boy. It is a meme from Hades 1 titled “character so good it makes you consider Hellenism.” The first panel says “Day 1” and shows a sketch of a person viewing Aphrodite from Hades 1 on their laptop. They say “damn I really like this character design.” The second panel says “Day 3” and shows the same person kneeling and weeping in front of an altar to Aphrodite, with the altar covered in pictures and figurines of her Hades 1 character design. The person says “OH LADY APHRODITE, GODDESS OF LOVE AND BEAUTY. SHARE YOUR WISDOM WITH ME. ALLOW ME TO SERVE YOU AND WORSHIP YOU. I SHALL DEDICATE MY WHOLE LIFE TO YOU.”
Reposting this here because it cracked me tf up 😭

Hi everyone! So I haven’t been as active lately and I’m behind on adding people to my #AphroditeDevotee starter pack. If you’re an Aphrodite devotee, let me know and I will add you to the starter pack! :) 💕

I’m gonna be vulnerable here. Are there any other HelPol (Hellenic Polytheist) in the VA community?
If so, hi!!! I’d love to make more friends 😖
I worship Athena, Aphrodite, Apollo and Hekate ❣️

A small blue shelf altar with a paper figurine of Agathos Daimon, an orange candle, a jar of oats, a wrapped chocolate, and some star crinoid fossils on it for good luck
A bit of non-Aphrodite content: I revamped Agathos Damion’s altar to fit some offerings and a candle! I’m broke so he gets some oats and candy 😭

A small red vase of wildflowers containing Creeping Charlie, bluebells, dandelions, and blue violets (the species, not the color—the violets are white and purple).
Some spring flowers I picked today for Aphrodite’s altar!

May 4-5: Thargelia (6-7 Thargelion). A purifying & supplication festival for Apollo & Demeter Kloe (of the green shoots; referring to the first of the grain harvest). Day 1: "Out with the bad" - scapegoats absorb the city's miasma and are expelled, taking the miasma with them. Kids go door-to-door asking for first-fruits offerings to hang on the olive boughs carried to the temple. Day 2: "In with the good" - First-fruits of beans and grains were boiled or baked into stew or bread and carried in procession to the temple. Many choir contests were held in honor of the god. May 17: Bendideia (19 Thargelion). An imported festival for the Thracian hunting goddess, Bendis (Artemis to the Athenians), with a combo horse-riding and torch race. Thracian women offered wheat to the goddess. May 23-24: Plynteria / Washing Rites (25-26 Thargelion). Athena's temple is closed for the duration of her two festivals, and the key to her temple given to the local tribe in charge of her rites. Day 1: The peplos from Athena's icon was taken to the sea and washed it (it was the size of a ship's sail). Day 2: The icon would be veiled and escorted to the sea by the military for washing in grand procession with figs and sweetmeats. The icon would stay at a local shrine overnight. May 26: Kallynteria / Adorning Rites (28 Thargelion). After a full day at the temple by the sea, the icon would be escorted home at sundown by torchlight and a big celebration held outside her temple all night upon arrival. In the morning the temple was cleaned, the sacred lamp relit, and the Athena's icon restored with her freshly laundered peplos.

Happy Thargelion!
The Noumenia will be April 28/29 depending on your timezone. I have versions for both West and East coast now! The theme for this month is cleaning and purging to make way for future blessings.
What do you want to release right now?

A paper figurine of Agathos Daimon, Ancient Greek lesser god and protector of households, on a golden shelf altar
I felt like now was a good time for some protection from vibes, so please give a warm welcome to Agathos Daimon, guardian of our house 🐍

A two-part altar to Aphrodite. Part of the altar is on a pink stand on a dresser, and the other part is above it on a blue shelf on the wall. The pink stand has a portrait of Aphrodite and an assortment of heart shaped trinkets and pink candles. The blue shelf has a statue of Aphrodite, a mirror, and many seashells.

Transplants and seedlings beside a window awaiting warmer weather: Serrano, tomatillo, roma tomatoes, and celery.
In lieu of an actual Garden for Adonis I'm gearing up for gardening season. He can't have these though, I need them to grow 🤭
#helpolsky
The Adonia festival is on April 3, a women's festival to mourn Adonis, Aphrodite's lost lover, but was also a placeholder for mourning all lost youths. "Gardens of Adonis" were made of lettuce with Adonis dolls and then buried by sea. The Delphinia on April 5th is a rite where the maidens at the Delphinion shrine carried boughs of olive wrapped in wool as supplication to Artemis and Apollo. On April 15th is the Mounichia, a festival for Artemis Queen of Beasts where she recieved "shining-all-round" cakes in the fashion of birthday cakes in apology for the Athenians killing the sacred bear that entered her temple. On April 18th is the Olympieia, a stream of athletic and horse-riding competitions (unrelated to the Olympics).
Happy Noumenia and an Io Mounichion!
Once again there are four main festivals for this month honoring Aphrodite, Artemis, and Zeus. Read below 🧵to learn more or visit my project at www.paian.org
