2/4 In a truly interdisciplinary effort led by #HengZhang , we compiled fish #biodiversity 🐠 🐟 🐡 data using 🧬 #eDNA across 160,000-km2 river catchment in Thailand 🇹🇭 characterized by high biodiversity yet intense anthropogenic alterations & attributed fish diversity to terrestrial LULC 🏭 🌾 🌳 🏙️.

Probably most exciting events in academic life are defenses of #PhD projects and release of PhD theses. Last fall 4 of my students defended their theses (by #MaraKnüsel #RebeccaOester @kirschdo.bsky.social & #HengZhang). Now all their theses are printed. A condensate of ecological knowledge! 🧬🔬🐟🦐🍂
