I think at their wildest and most experimental, on something like ‘Catapult 30’, 1970s #Wire were operating in the same interesting spaces that #ThisHeat or #HenryCow were. Take this absolutely fantastic piece by the latter as an example…

I first saw #HenryCow in a near-original incarnation trio of guitar, organ & saxophone, bass (no drums), when a Cambridge contemporary dance company performed at Warwick University and Henry Cow provided the live music for the dance.
