Alice's light still burns bright.
Help make it bright enough to light the way to the true equality that transgender people deserve, and to turn those who cling to their hate like leeches, to ashes.

Hopefully this latest attack on the community will encourage people to read your book.
This must be a painful time for your family and the families and friends of trans loved ones.

Tune into hear me chatting with Naga Munchetty Radio 5 live 11:30.
We’ll be talking about my trans daughter Alice and my memoir #HerNameisAlice about her life and death, the impact of transphobia and the decimation of trans healthcare at the hands of successive governments.

Promotional material with a teal background, showing the book cover of “Her name is Alice” by Caroline Litman. The cover is a picture of Alice in a grey coat, beige trousers and brown shoes carrying a neon pink handbag. It shows a quote about the book by the poet John McCullough, “Shines an unyielding light on the devastating impact of transphobia”.
A copy of #HerNameisAlice is winging its way to several politicians and members of the House of Lords who have been offered, and have accepted a copy.

Sending love and solidarity to all trans people. Know you are respected and valued. Live out of spite. Live for Alice. But most of all live for yourselves. Find your tribe. Celebrate your existence your way. Most of all, stay safe 🩷

I apologise to #intersex people. In the epilogue of #HerNameIsAlice I refer to differences of sexual development as disorders of sexual development. This is wrong, a hangover from my days as a psychiatrist 20-30 years ago and slipped through editing.
It's been amended in audio and kindle editions.
Mudlark promo for Her Name is Alice, the cover of the book, showing young Alice carrying her sister's neon pink handbag with the words Out Now.
Alice aged 19. Pictured at home drinking a gin and tonic from a large goblet glass. She has a buzz cut and is wearing her favourite charity-shop flying jacket find.
Whilst I'm proud today marks the official publication of #HerNameIsAlice I'll spend much of the day thinking if only I hadn't had to write it, remembering my beautiful daughter and wishing with all my heart she was still here and that there was no book.
So thrilled that #HerNameIsAlice @alicemydaughter.bsky.social
is a @waterstones.bsky.social Best March Book.

poster for the trans kids deserve better art show. February 22, 2020 5. 12 pm to 4 pm at the The Queery Brighton BN2 1RJ.
If you’re in Brighton today visit #TransKidsDeserveBetter art show. They’re exhibiting a painting of my family, by my dear friend Jane, who features in #HerNameisAlice
Jane is Alice’s godmother. Her journey from TERF to ally is a tale of hope, of the possibility of change.
Maybe see you there.
Image of early mock up of the book cover for Her Name is Alice. Picture of young Alice as a toddler in grungy boy clothes, carrying a bright neon-pink handbag, wearing sunglasses and smiling to the camera. She is standing by a car's open door and looks like she is about to leave. The title is emblazoned across the image, in a bright yellow childish scrawl.
Looking for a last minute Christmas gift? Buy your GC colleague something to look forward to in March. Buy it for your transphobic uncle, or your ally friend (who really isn't). Buy it for your mum or dad, a sibling or cousin. Anyone who might learn from my story.

I made the best choice picking @imogengc.bsky.social as editor for #HerNameIsAlice
She gave me so much freedom balanced with astute yet gentle guidance.
I’ve worked so hard. Now I must let go and trust the reader.
(And a stroke of ‘luck’ to discover yesterday’s revelations in time for inclusion)
Two days after Streeting bans puberty blockers for gender dysphoria, #HerNameIsAlice goes to print.
Topical, beautiful + important, it portrays the real impact of inadequate trans healthcare. I couldn't be prouder of @alicemydaughter.bsky.social
