The new #HeritageAtRisk Register includes the closest listed building to my childhood home: St. Peter's Church, Parr, #StHelens. I'm sorry to see it has been added, but not surprised - the scaffolding around the steeple has been up for years now. 😔

This building was once the grand office & home of Conroy, who helped shape Peru’s trade networks. Built in 1855, it stood at the heart of Callao’s port life, though now a fading monument to a global past.

2. Goods store, Canal Road.
The Mountmellick branch of the Grand Canal was closed in 1960 & partly filled in for a road. This remaining stone store is characteristic of those built along the canals for goods offloaded from barges. Significant potential for modern adaptive reuse.
