Told a friend that first chapter of Hexen 2 was simply perfect: a dark-ages environment, with gray clouds and a constant feel of menace. The order three (Egyptian, Mayan and Roman/greek) while great, were a bit out of spirit.

The most terrifying enemy in Hexen 2 is not any of the Riders of the Apocalypse, but the school of fish in the reflecting pools.
The boss monsters merely kill you - the fish will end reality itself by randomly crashing inside 'fish_follow'.
