Newspaper story: CALESTER COLLEGE. Charles Macalester, of Philadelphia, & wealthy and well known citizen of that eity, bas offered the Winslow House, at the Falls of St. Anthony, which cost over $100,000, to a Board of Trustees, seven from Saint Paul and eight from Minneapolis, provided the pledge of the Rev. Mr. Neill is made good, to place $30,000 in cash or approved securities within a eertuin time in the hands of said Trustees, the an-terest of which fund is only to be used in part payment of professor's salaries. Jesus College now ceases to exist, and Mr. Neill becomes Provost of Macalester College, The old Baldwin School, ineorporated in 1858, Swill be attached as a preparatory school. We are informed that Hon. JohnS. Pillsbury and Judge Yanderburg, in advance of the cireulation of the subscription book, have each pledged one thousand dollars of the fund.
