Like stepping back in time, the Kelham Island Tavern is that most wonderful of pub - traditional in look but with modern beers. With sandwiches on the bar, it takes the best of the past and sets it in the contemporary.

Originally a Victorian #pub built to serve the railway workers, the Fox in #York has been given a new lease of life by #Ossett Brewery.
Its interior is stunningly restored to give an authentic feel, with small rooms, fires and lush furnishings.

A pub full of character and (good) characters, the Thomas Tripp in #Christchurch dates from 1750 and - like many historic pubs in the area - has connections to smuggling.
The oil paintings on the wall now immortalise local patrons.

A black and white photograph by Kev Peirce shows the historic streetscape of Morgan, South Australia. The image features a wide, dusty foreground leading to two classic Australian buildings: a single story shop on the left and a two story pub, the Morgan Wharf Hotel (formerly the Commercial Hotel), on the right. A prominent, nearly bare tree stands in the centre foreground, and a picnic bench is visible near the bottom edge. Cars and a caravan are parked outside the pub under a cloudy sky.
The soul of a river town captured in monochrome.

Seems an appropriate pub for this Easter weekend. Holy Tavern in #Clerkenwell harks back to the 18th century.
On the site of the monastic order of Knights Hospitaller, it’s a faithful re-creation of a 1700s #London pub.

What better way to celebrate than at a historic waterfront pub such as the Mayflower in Rotherhithe?
Choose between the characterful interior or the terrace over the Thames. Great views!

Very old pub with white painted walls and timber framed front. Writing on the side says The Olde Hatchet Inn 1606.
I've been looking at some of the historic pubs in Bristol. This one claims to be the oldest - it is also said (rather creepily) that the front door is covered with layers of human skin... #bristol #englandtravel #historicpub #bgtw
A view into a cosy pub room through a black wooden door frame. The rooms have old wooden chairs and a couple of wooden settles. The walls are grey liassic limestone. There is a patterned red and pale yellow carpet on the floor.
Went to the Blue Anchor pub in East Aberthaw earlier this week. A classic old Inn well worth visiting. Food was great and helpful friendly service.
