A hackberry emperor resting on a finger with its wings opened. It is facing up left. The butterfly is a deep brown toward the outer edges of its upper wings and a lighter brown toward the middle. There are lots of white spots on the darker brown with tan spots on the outer part, which are darker in the center. The tips of its antennae are white.
