Much stonework to appreciate in this view.
Graded pebbles & brick of the old school.
The tower of flint nodules with also squared & knapped flint. Brick battlements & stone spirelet finials. The buttresses with stone dressings.

Interesting to see brasses with their black/white image inverted.
Some of the details for Henry Nottingham & his wife (c 1405) are more evident.
Thank to @royreed.bsky.social for advice.

Along the River Hun, Mute Swans & Mallards gave us a wide berth.
Amazing numbers of golf balls on the river bed!
Some of the 1.25 mile journey was blissful, like swimming among coral heads in a crystal clear lagoon (kind of!)...

On a grey morning at #HolmenexttheSea an arrival of Pied Flycatchers, Redstarts, Willow Warblers, Whinchats and Lesser Whitethroat. Parties of Black-tailed Godwit heading East along the coast.
Good to see Prickly Saltwort (Salsola kali) and Sea Rocket (Cakile maritima) in the dunes today at #HolmenexttheSea. Also Common Scurveygrass (Cochlearia officinalis) and Western Polypody (Polypodium interjectum).

Small Heath and Wall were among the butterflies on the dunes at #HolmenexttheSea today.
Blue Fleabane (Erigeron borealis) - the blackberry didn't stay there... Also delicious were the berries of Sea-buckthorn (Elaeagunus rhamnoides).
