Welcome to the church of St. John the Baptist in Keynsham Somerset. The church is Perpendicular but has C13 origins and is much changed and restored since. Seemingly stranded on a traffic island surrounded by modern development #StJohnKeynsham #Somerset #SteepleSaturday

A Round Tower church built of carrstone.

Lower Saxon part was built in the 11th Century of random bits.

Next section has 10 round-headed early belfry openings (now blocked) of squared stone.

The belfry above was added in the 15th century.

The Church of St. Lawrence at Warkworth in Northumberland. The Church is mostly C12th and C15th in date, with the west tower built in around 1200. The belfry and spire were added in the C14th or C15th. 📸 My own. #SteepleSaturday #Warkworth #Northumberland

In the ancient landscape twixt Marlborough and Avebury lie several churches, including Fyfield.
A sprinkle of Norman, with a dash of Early English, add in some Perp Gothic, sieve with Puritan cleansers, then stir with a touch of Early Victorian restoration.

St. Peter, Charney Bassett
#SteepleSaturday

The church stands beside Charney Manor, once an Abingdon Abbey grange. From possible Saxon beginnings the current building began in the early 12th century, grew in the 14th and 15th, then endured neglect, restoration, war damage and most recently repair.
