This dinner ended up great.
I really wanted to try my hand at making the beet salad. My husband’s bread was incredible. In addition to buckwheat flour he used molasses instead of white sugar.
We’ll definitely make all this again.

Success!!! Well, sort of.
My corn pudding meets buttermilk pie ended up a very muted pink. My only complaint is that it is intensely sweet. Still yummy though.
Next time I’ll half the sugar and maybe leave the yolks out for a clearer pink shade.
