One of several #HikingTrails in Black Hill Regional Park in Germantown, Maryland. The park abruptly ends at an upscale neighborhood. The adjacent lake is manmade.

I'm joining Bill's #HumanNature challenge, art that reflects the human imprint on earth. I think the contrast of the haystacks against the backdrop of the ancient rock formations fits the theme.

Once again, I am not a photographer or artist but want to contribute to your theme @billjonesjr.bsky.social Here is one for #HomeforWinter
Suburban homes near Germantown, MD. North American winters are colder than European ones, because Europe is warmed by the Gulf Stream, which travels along the US's southern and eastern coasts before heading to Europe. Here, we deal with occasional polar vortexes and cold air from the Pacific, which means similar latitudes can be colder in North America.
Me, daring to tread about 10 miles from home on a trail near a man-made lake. I am Bear Grylls, no?
For 2026, I'm going to try focusing on what I call #HumanNature, highlighting humans' imprint on the Earth.
For Jan. 4 - 10 I'll be posting #HomeforWinter, showing how we create or disturb winter environs. The alternate theme is #HikingTrails.
All #art is welcome, if'n ya wanna join in.
