Dr. Abu Safiya suffers from irregular heartbeats. • He is still wearing winter clothes despite the harsh detention conditions, including starvation, torture, and isolation. • He is held in an underground cell that does not receive sunlight.

The family of Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya calls on the international community, the Emir of the State of Qatar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the negotiating delegation in Qatar to exert pressure for the release of Dr. Hossam in the upcoming batch of Palestinian prisoners set to be freed next week. (Hebrew media reported that Dr. Hossam would be released, but unfortunately, his name was not included in the next batch.) We will not forgive those who neglected our father's case and the rest of the medical personnel detained in Israeli prisons. They must be a priority at the negotiation table.

It is no secret to anyone the immense efforts Dr. Hussam has made since the beginning of the war to support the only healthcare system for the residents of North Gaza, your families, friends, and loved ones. His most recent effort was after the military 'A_ALI operation on North Gaza, following an 84-day siege. During this time, they endured the harshest trials, including hunger, oppression, bombardment, and threats, all for the sake of the patients. Tragically, he lost his beloved son, Ibrahim, and he himself suffered severe injuries. It should be noted that my father is still affected by his injuries to this day. We do not know the fate of our father. We appeal to you to take action, raise awareness, exert media pressure, and produce reports to pressure the occupation for his immediate release.
