#DearDiary, For 30 years, I lived in a doorman elevator apartment building in New York City. Now we live in a house in a small town in California, which means we must go outdoors to empty our trash. The garbage cans are on the other side of the garage where it’s pitch black in the evening shadows. There are lots of spooky after dark forest sounds coming from not too far down the hill past the backyard as well. For those reasons, I never take out the trash after the sun goes down, but somehow Todd manages to only take the trash out late. He almost always returns from his mostly past midnight trash runs all freaked and out of breath, insisting there are space aliens lurking in the bushes surrounding the garbage cans. When I was young, I would use drawing as a means to possess and become one with all the shit missing in my shitty little existence, in addition to dissociatively escape the obvious nightmares of a classically problematic reality. Right now, my current homosexual dream world of pure imagination is Hot Dog Sundays, the fabulously horny and visually orgasmic LA party that is the mastermind masterwork of bi-coastal clubland legend and genius Mario Diaz. Mario fucking rules. I’m totally obsessed with Hot Dog’s bountiful buffet of gorgeously sleazy and legit best-dressed, superstar sex god go-go dancers. Like I can’t get enough. They are magnificent.
