Just saw #HowToMakeAKilling at the cinema and thought it was pretty good. Wasn’t quite sure how it was going to end up. 💰

My main takeaway from #HowToMakeAKilling was I spent almost the entire runtime going “who is that?! Where do I know them from?!” and it wasn’t until the credits I realised it was Jessica Henwick who is great and needs to be in more things.

Film: How to Make a Killing [2026] – Glen Powell, Margaret Qualley How to Make a Killing is a good film that should’ve been great, and a great portfolio booster for both Glen Powell and Margaret Qualley. * * * The film is held together by Powell’s charm as Becket Redfellow, a rich heir disowned at birth by his obscenely wealthy family. In A24 fashion, the film looks pretty in the way that it could benefit as a Ralph Lauren summer/spring catalogue gone awry…but unfortunately, to make a good killing, it helps to hit the mark. The film struggles to figure out what kind of movie it wants to be, ultimately leaving it rather forgettable, if momentarily entertaining. Is it a John Wick clone? King’s Man? All of the above? Honestly, it feels like a mix of everything. The death row scene feels like it was picked straight out of an Ocean’s 11 film. The action is very King’s Man, and the motivation is very John Wick. However, stitched all together, HTMK feels like a tasteless soup that looks like it was made in a three starts Michelin restaurant. And don’t get me started on the twist at the end. It makes absolutely no sense. And if anything, it dilutes the whole film. Did Beckett do it for the money? His promise to his mom? his obsession with the girl? Who knows? That twist alone negates any and all reasoning. Give it a shot, pun intended. But don’t expect much. How To Make a Killing – Official Trailer ##### Should you watch it? Honestly, the trailer is better than the movie.
