Screencap from cycle of genocide Patreon continued: "The book How to Read Donald Duck, provides much analysis to the role of individualism in capitalism while simultaneously denouncing collective revolution. Its also important to note how the Disney comics were imposed during a time when Chile was in the midst of revolution, just reiterating how important the role of propaganda, psychological warfare is through various forms of media in maintaining oppression and public control. I could go on all day continuing to expand upon the role of individualism in expanding US imperialism and colonialism. But the overarching idea to accept, is the fact that psychological tactics of war have been enacted throughout history until now which involve destabilization, displacement, eroding of identity and self esteem for oppressors to then use this clean slate formed from trauma, as a canvas for reprogramming individuals into imperialistic, capitalistic and colonial paradigms. While stereotypes and other acts of dehumanization may be deemed small in comparison to the acts of torture used on literal prisoners of war, the fact is that these acts of psychological warfare have a purpose of erasing cultural paradigms and supplanting with colonial paradigms that only aid further acts of colonialism and racist violence. When these acts of colonial expression become channeled into the systemic through larger media depictions in popular society, or literal tactics of war like producing propaganda to justify government coups, it can no longer be mitigated as non harmful. If anything I feel these acts of stereotyping and propaganda, are a NECESSARY part of ensuring the colonization of a group, otherwise perpetrators of violence wouldn't feel so emboldened in carrying out violence against other groups."
