NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo was not indicted for the chokehold that killed Eric Garner but was fired 5 years later, after a $6M settlement to Garner's family. Garner, a father of 6 had been arrested more than 30 times. Ramsey Orta, who filmed the arrest, was harassed, jailed on drug charges, and fed rat poison (likely by prison officials) while in jail. He was ultimately given 4 years in Rikers. Sometimes, human conflicts arise because there are no heroes in their movie.
