Han Kang's #HumanActs ( #소년이온다 ) was the latter. It took me a long time to finish. The book moves through the 1980 #GwangjuUprising through bodies, voices, wounds that refuse to stay buried.

I finished #HanKang #Wedonotpart. I read other books( #Greeklessons, #Convalescence, #Humanacts) but I found this deeper, dreamlike, gloomy.I loved how she brings collective memory in the daily life. #Memory becomes a duty not immobilized as a personal memory(ricordo); it remains alive and burning.

Finished reading #HumanActs by Korean author #HanKang wow what a harrowing read but so powerful and needed. Such a contrast to seeing now what is happening today in #SouthKorea as martial law was shut down in 6 hrs and how the military has acted - refusing to fire on their own people.
Absolutely agree! #HanKang is my favourite political #novelist. If you haven't read #HumanActs about the #GwangjuUprising & its aftermath, you should. Now!
