You may notice something is different at our #Kingston terminal starting today. The retired ferry #Hyak is being towed from Kingston to our Eagle Harbor Maintenance Facility this morning. The Hyak first sailed with us in 1967 until its retirement in 2019.
After last night had snowfall rather than rain, I was REALLY hoping the atmospheric river predicted to hit this afternoon would somehow also come in as snow. But the rain pelting my roof tells me it is not. Sadness.

Hit Hyak today. Got a little wet but the snow wasn't as hard as expected (good job, groomers!) and the lack of crowds was fantastic. I'm hoping we get JUST enough Friday traffic for The Summit to keep us open Fridays next season. :)

I'm really glad I don't need to park to ski #Hyak. Due to public dumbassery, there are at least a hundred fewer parking spots in the lower lot today than yesterday. And I expect a similar number of visitors wanting to park. Don't know where the attendants that should have prevented this are.

First day skiing on my home mountain this season! They're running the lift I can see from my house on Fridays this year and I'm super happy about it! The snow was great and the crowd not nearly as bad as it will likely be tomorrow. :)
