Watching an #IBMZDay session about the #COBOL Upgrade Advisor for z/OS (CUAZ), and it reminded me that the negative feelings people have about COBOL being old are so odd.
There are new Enterprise COBOL compilers being released on a regular basis & new (2021+) tools like CUAZ to help with upgrades!
A lot of mentions of skills during this #IBMZDay but it's different than before: AI-driven tooling is now helping get newcomers up to speed. Not replacing learning, it's helping.
