My biggest accomplishment of the summer is packing for consecutive conferences and family vacation into one carry-on + backpack without over or under packing.
Twilight 📸s: fjord cruise in Tromsø #IBNS2025, cathedral in Bordeaux #EBBS2025, touristing in Florence, and downtime in Lucca

A summery scenery of a fjord between two mountains basking in the midnight sun.
Had a blast in #ibns2025 @ibnsconnect.bsky.social in Tromsø last week.
Nice people, interesting behavioural science, beautiful scenery, and the northernmost place I've ever visited (and thus experienced the most intense midnight sun, too).
Thanks @cost-teatime.bsky.social for the travel support!

Heading back from #IBNS2025 in Tromsø with an overnight layover in Copenhagan, feeling so invigorated and excited to return to the lab!
Congrats to Lerner Lab grad student Nkatha Mwenda on her Best Poster award at #IBNS2025!!! #proudPI #neuroskyence
I'm sad to have missed this conference - Norway looks 🤩
The IBNS meeting in Tromsø has come to an end. Thank you all for making it a memorable gathering, both scientifically and socially! Hopefully I see you all in Cape Town next year! @ibnsconnect.bsky.social #IBNS2025 #Tromsø #neuroskyence
Take home messages from #IBNS2025;
Not all rats enjoy playing as much and there are ‘popular’ ones. This makes some others feel left out and exhibit anxiety like behaviour.
Not all controls are controls and individual differences should be carefully evaluated.
Play behaviour is tricky 🤓🩷
“Fixing” the atypical ones, trying to fit everyone into the same box is a problem for autism is well. Different isnt inadequate. We will learn lot more once we cherish the differences 🩷 #autism #sexdifferences #IBNS2025
Not me fangirling over the legendary @liisagalea.bsky.social at #IBNS2025. Finally meeting her in person was my highlight of the event. Sorry midnight sun, sorry other people.
Radulovic: Using contextual fear conditioning - thinking about signals that are unique with US+CS may be more fruitful to examine. With a time sequence of neuronal transcriptomic states with synaptic to protein to ECM- mostly in CA1 #IBNS2025
j Radulovic: stress response is conserved across species & stress influences memory formation (acute or chronic can influence memory) . Memory can be expressed in transciptomic states #IBNS2025 @ibnsconnect.bsky.social
And cool findings showing that intestinstial stem cells improves stroke outcomes. Depends on donor age but not sex #IBNS2025
I am done 🩷
First of all, thank you to the person who showed up for my poster at 8am sharp. That is commitment.
Secondly, thanks to TUBITAK for funding my travel so I could talk about my research!
Had so many people to discuss that I didnt realise i was up for 150mins! 🫣

Sohrabji:Estrogens improve stroke outcomes in young BUT not in older females. But ICV IGF-1 does improve neural outcomes but not cognitive outcomes. #IBNS2025
I’m at IBNS in Tromso 🇳🇴 for #IBNS2025. First up Farida Sohrabji stroke is 5th leading cause of death in men but 3rd(!) in women!!! & one of the leading causes of AD. Pre-menopause fewer women have stroke but after 65 many more women have strokes than men.
Fear ourside the box. Important insights in the neural pathways mediating the what and where of a predator threat in the keynote lecture of Nelson Canteras. @ibnsconnect.bsky.social #IBNSconnect #IBNS2025
Fascinating local keynote lecture by Siri Leknes @sirileknes.bsky.social at the IBNS meeting in in Tromso. @IBNSconnect #IBNSconnect #IBNS2025

I would have gone to #IBNS2025 next summer regardless, but with a symposium programme like this, it is a no-brainer!
