Krina Doekes Brandt's presentation "Making Historical Geographic Collections Accessible: Digital Cataloging and Spatial Discovery Tools" was excellent. She outlined the work taken to create a highly interactive catalog for historical maps/aerial photos.
As ever I feel extremely lucky to be able to attend, present, appreciate, criticise, eat, drink, and be merry, at the international group of ex libris users conference. 4 years in a row! #igelu2025

Christine Stohn (Clarivate) talks of the waves of AI.
AI/machine learning
Generative AI
Agentic AI
I wonder how similar Agentic AI is to the P2P approach of the UNaiVERSE product discussed in the keynote.
#IGeLU2025 very interesting presentation, going on now in room 101

How is the presumably vast energy increase from embedding AI into every single product and task and search being measured and offset, particularly considering Clarivate's goal to be net zero by 2040? #igelu2025

Adina Marciano (Clarivate) discusses upcoming linked open data features in Primo NDE. Some interesting location related features by the looks of it.

Xiaoli Li (University of California, Davis) discusses the upcoming work of the Linked Open Data Working Group for 2025/26.

Keynote from Marco Gori essentially was him promoting UNaIVERSE. It seems to be a decentralised, privacy focused form of AI. It makes sense but given what Ex Libris are doing currently,I would wonder if they would be interested.
I think the community definitely would be.

Train platfrom sign for Siena
Arrived in Siena today for the #IGeLU2025 conference. Looking forward to 3 days of learning, listening and discussion related to library services. @mulibrary.bsky.social
I will be watching a few IGeLU 2025 Conference talks. It makes sense that there is a lot of AI stuff given the huge push ExL have done in the past year or so. But great to see some interesting sounding Linked Data presentations also

Who's going to #igelu2025? I'm getting to go in person (woo, Siena!) and there are so many good sessions. Also a ton on AI--I'm interested to hear how people are evaluating the "research assistant" and if they've turned it on.
