Friday gave Chicagoland brief break from rain in second-wettest meteorological spring open Since March 1, the 5.69″ tally officially at O’Hare International Airport makes this the second wettest start to spring on the books here, since records began in 1871.

The latest spring storm produced another round of active thunderstorms that dumped heavy rainfall; some areas picked up 2-3″ of rain on Thursday in multiple clusters.
