More #IPEF ratifications - this time from Singapore, which ratified the Overarching IPEF Agreement, Fair Economy Agreement and Clean Economy Agreement on 11 Sept. This means the Overarching Agreement and Clean Economy Agreement should enter into force in 30 days time (11 Oct).

Reposting my most recent piece. At a basic level, #IPEF was meant to reassure America's partners that it is still interested in a meaningful economic relationship. However, with all that's happened (or failed to happen), it ostensibly failed to provide that reassurance.

Strategists keep making this point, and yet politicians struggle to inspire constituents ... watching what has happened with #IPEF is particularly frustrating because that was a first step in this renewed commitment.

This of course presupposes that the U.S. is extending an invitation to join and that the bloc is substantive. No #IPEF announcement at #APEC means these states have to continue to hedge their bets with China. 1/
