From the outside this sub looks a bit offensive to Bristol Rovers but it's one of the ways that McKenna keeps his squad together and keep camaraderie. Didn't have much to do. 100% pass success (2/2) - N/A #ITFC #IPSBRR

Great to see him back on the pitch. His running in behind is something Town have been sorely missing. Could have had a goal going clean through but was excellently denied by the Rovers goalie - 8/10 #ITFC #IPSBRR

On in the central 10 role. Couple of nice little dribbles and pieces of skill. Will have an important role in coming games - 7/10 #ITFC #IPSBRR

Replaced Godfrey and did okay. Sloppy on the ball a couple of times - 6/10 #ITFC #IPSBRR

On at half time and kept the threat going down the right hand side - 7/10 #ITFC #IPSBRR

Not a fan of the vitriol he's getting for the penalty on X. Yes it was poor but he led the line well, getting in good positions to receive the ball. Hanging on the shoulders of defenders and pressing well - 7/10 #ITFC #IPSBRR

This performance will hopefully do him the world of good. Beginning to look like he's getting a better understanding of the left sided role in this team with lots of dribbles coming inside the pitch whilst also releasing the ball at good times - 9/10 #ITFC #IPSBRR

Played in the ten and looked good which is good news with a lot of injury issues in that area right now. In charge of pressing from the front. Brings more physicality to that position. Got in a good area, albeit a potentially offside one for his goal - 8/10 #ITFC #IPSBRR

Only got 45 mins but had 22 touches in the final third in that time, giving Lino Sousa a tough time down that side - 7/10 #ITFC #IPSBRR

This was the Mass from the Championship, driving runs, defensive effort, always in the right place at the right time. Scuffed a couple of shots but won the penalty with his strike at goal - 8/10 #ITFC #IPSBRR

Phillips was everywhere an built up a great partnership with Woolfenden receiving 13 passes from him. Kept play ticking, took his goal excellent and did his defensive duties as well, 5 recoveries, 3 interceptions - 9/10 (MoTM) #ITFC #IPSBRR

Torn between Townsend and Phillips for man of the match but the City loanee's goal just about gives him the egde. Townsend was excellent though. Barely noticed that Leif wasn't playing is the highest compliment I can pay - 9/10 #ITFC #IPSBRR

Comfortable day on the left hand side for Burgess. Won all of his headers and didn't look threatened defensively whilst also playing 11 progressive passes - 8/10 #ITFC #IPSBRR

Only player to retain his place for this one and was instrumental in getting Town's attacks going. Both pass received and passes played are full of action. 7 progressive passes and barely any misplaced - 9/10 #ITFC #IPSBRR

Did well on his debut. Felt like much like Axel when he's in that role he always looked like he had a couple of gears to go up if he needed to. Made one excellent last ditch challenge - 8/10 #ITFC #IPSBRR

Player Ratings 🧵:
Back in for the cup. Didn't have any saves of note to make. Almost gifted Rovers a goal with his passing out from the back and kicked into touch a few times but also clipped some nice balls in to starts attacks - 7/10 #ITFC #IPSBRR

Average position shows Town as a back three really with Townsend really high and wide. Jack Clarke looked really good tucking in to that inside role with Taylor drifting right to support Burns #IPSBRR #ITFC #BRFC

Town creating chances from down both sides but also playing through the middle more than in the PL which is usually blocked off by quality defences #IPSBRR #ITFC #BRFC

Dominant display from Town in the first half. Bristol Rovers looked slightly better second half and created a few more chances but without ever really testing Muric #IPSBRR #ITFC #BRFC
