Sezon konferencyjny w pełni! Ewa Zegler-Poleska @zeglerpoleska.bsky.social uczestniczyła w konferencji International Society for Scientometrics and Informetrics (ISSI) w Armenii, gdzie zaprezentowała wyniki badań prowadzonych w ramach projektu PRELUDIUM NCN.
#ISSI2025
Just got back from an amazing week at #ISSI2025 in Yerevan, Armenia! I had the chance to present both a talk and a poster:
🕊️ Talk: Melting Science: Russian Climate Change Research in the Global Context
🧶 Poster: Stop, little pot! Are there too many scientometric studies?
Let’s keep in touch!
We're proud to share that Ewa Zegler-Poleska presented her research at #ISSI2025 in Yerevan! Ewa is a member of our Lab at @euroreg-uw.bsky.social, University of Warsaw.
It's rewarding to see our team members participating in global academic networks and representing the Lab at international events.
Big thanks to the local organizers in Yerevan for their warm hospitality and for creating such a welcoming and well-organized environment for academic exchange.
Already looking forward to the next ISSI conference in 2027 in Taipei, Taiwan!

At ISSI 2025, Mike Thelwall made waves: LLMs like ChatGPT now outperform citations in predicting expert evaluations of scientific papers. Instead of counting who cited whom, AI reads your abstract - and scores it. Often more accurately. But beware: black-box models, unstable outputs, and no real link to actual research impact. Still, an LLM-based alternative to JIF? That’s a game-changer.
At #ISSI2025 @mikethelwall.bsky.social proposed updating the Leiden Manifesto to reflect the rise of LLMs in research assessment. He outlined 4 new principles: transparent prompts, awareness of #LLM instability, cost-benefit thinking, reminder that LLM scores aren’t proof of scientific contribution.
I had a lot of fun at #issi2025! So many fantastic young scientists trying to quantify how political, cultural, and personal forces shape science.
At #ISSI2025 learning a lot about the scientometric community and ongoing research. Excited to have @openairegraph.bsky.social as an alternative open bibliographic database. Kudos to @openaire.bsky.social NOAD Shushanik Sargsyan for a superb organization & hospitality. People make the difference.

We had another #INNBI meeting during the #ISSI2025, focused on national bibliometric infrastructures.
We had another #INNBI meeting during the #ISSI2025, focused on national bibliometric infrastructures. As we say in 🇺🇦: as long as a Russian missile hasn’t hit your flat – you keep working, even if it feels like nobody cares. #Bibliometrics #ResearchAssessment #ResponsibleMetrics #SciencePolicy
🌍 Next stop: Yerevan, Armenia 🇦🇲 for #ISSI2025!

If you're attending #ISSI2025, I’d be thrilled to see you there! Don't forget about our poster too: Stop, little pot! Are there too many scientometric studies?
I just posted a #Mastodon thread on how a Russian scientometrician fled to #Germany 🇩🇪 - but from there, he continues to promote narratives aligned with Putin’s propaganda:
