Classicist circular conference room packed with people — looking at 2 presenters standing in front of a projected slide
Do you still digitise or digitally transform?
A packed room for Anne-Marie Pellegrin from @digitalservice.bund.de and Clemens Striebig from @fraunhofer.bsky.social IAO — talking about the scientifically measurable impact of our #Work4Germany fellowship programme.
#ITPLR
A conference or seminar with a seated audience listening to speakers presenting at a podium in a formal room with a projected presentation on screen.
Now, pretty much full house for an input on how we updated Germany’s #ServiceStandard — led by @bmi.bund.de’s Ralf Käck and Luise Kranich and the DIN‘s Amelie Busse — on how #DINspec66336 was co-developed by 41 orgs.

A speaker presents at a lectern with a slide projected behind him titled “Wo stehen wir heute?” The slide includes categories like digital access, trusted identities, and data exchange, along with a colorful diagram and the term “Servicestandard.” Red classical-style wall art decorates the room.
4 hours and 30 minutes into #ITPLR congress, the updated #ServiceStandard gets the first mention by @thilak.de — with the suggestion to include the umbrella brand and the KERN #DesignSystem in #GaaP considerations.
A speaker stands behind a lectern, presenting a slide titled “Wo stehen wir heute?” in German. The slide includes colorful graphics and boxes with text about digital access, trusted services, and data interoperability. The room is decorated with red wall art and classical motifs.
Where are we in Germany with #GaaP components?
@thilak.de gives an overview of what is there and what is missing.

A speaker is presenting at a podium with a projected slide behind him that shows five digital service components. The slide includes English and German text, with "5 Basiskomponenten" highlighted. The setting appears to be a conference room with decorative red artwork on the walls.
Shoutout to GDS’s platform components, specifically GOV.UK Forms and the GOV.UK Prototype Kit by @thilak.de at #ITPLR congress.
A conference presentation slide titled "Herausforderungen" (challenges) lists issues in digitizing administrative systems, such as lack of networking, no unified portal, unequal access, and no data transfer between systems. Speakers are on stage, and attendees are seated in the foreground.
Issues holding back more proactive services are missing data-sharing links to backend and case working systems, a lack of unified portals, and a lack of access.
Great storytelling from René Fischer and Fabian Lining from the city of Hamm at #ITPLR congress.
A conference presentation showing a slide about municipal services ("Dienstleistungen Bürgerämter") in German, including terms like "KFZ-Zulassung" (vehicle registration) and "Personalausweise" (ID cards). Several attendees are seated in the audience, and speakers are on stage beside the screen.
A conference presentation slide titled "Kerndienstleistungen" (core services) showing statistics for municipal services: 110,000 address changes, 180,000 ID cards, 12,000 passports, 27,000 vehicle deregistrations, and 29,000 registrations. Attendees are seated while speakers present on stage.
Work on service lists never ends.
When I left, we didn’t succeed in creating a definite cross-departmental live list in the UK.
In Germany, we are further behind.
So, I’m always glad to see volume numbers from cities like Hamm, which has some 187,000 citizens.

A middle aged man in a suit speaking in front of an audience in a festive hall — a projected slide says “greetings and keynote: Stephan Manke, state secretary in Lower Saxony ministry for the interior and sport” with the logo of the state of Lower Saxony and the IT planning council
It only took 9 minutes into #FITKO’s #ITPLR Congress for a state secretary to reference shopping experiences with Amazon as the benchmark for interacting with public services.
🤦🏻♂️
A ticket and bag branded with IT planning council expert congress while a person is walking
Arrived for #ITPLR Fachkongress—1 of the few German public sector events by public servants for public servants, without commercial intermediaries.
Quirky thing: Some 1/2 of the attendees queued with printed paper tickets 🎟️ to get their QR codes scanned—while the topic is “digitalisation: just do”
