Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs: • We warn of the danger of the Israeli escalation and the violation of the sanctity of the Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Hebron. • We condemn the occupation forces’ prevention of the call to prayer for dawn prayers from the minarets of the Ibrahimi Mosque, for eight days now. This is considered a dangerous development that clearly aims to conceal Islamic rituals inside the mosque and completely prevent them in the future. • Yesterday, Monday, the occupation forces prevented a foreign diplomatic delegation from entering the Ibrahimi Mosque, in an attempt to prevent them from seeing the crimes of Judaization, theft, and changing its features that the mosque is being subjected to.
Last night, settlers, under the protection of the occupation forces, desecrated the Ibrahimi Mosque with Talmudic dances to loud music. We affirm that these violations, which come in a successive and systematic manner and aim to tighten control over the Ibrahimi Mosque, require the international community to do what is necessary to stop and end them and affirm the exclusive sovereignty of the Palestinian people over the Ibrahimi Mosque. We call upon our Palestinian people in general and the people of the city of Hebron to be permanently present inside the Ibrahimi Mosque and to celebrate religious occasions that give an Islamic character to its identity; the mosque, with its courtyards and facilities, is a purely Islamic endowment property.
