First I've seen the baker's dozen +1 maps I screenprinted together: pleased. So many hours materials shopping, ink mixing, & dropping f-bombs at the press.

Spiraling Maps Atop Salesforce Tower – Eric Theise Full title: "Eight Stories High, Comically Lo-Res, Visible for Twenty Miles: Spiraling Maps Atop Salesforce Tower" Since 2022 I've given 30+ performances of A Synesthete's Atlas—during which I manipulate projected OpenStreetMap-based maps in collaboration with musicians—across North America. My animation, If Map #5, appeared throughout February on the display that crowns San Francisco's Salesforce Tower, the second tallest building west of the Mississippi. I'll talk about my motivations, influences, technologies, and the cartographic challenges of designing for an enormous, yet determinedly low resolution, display.   ——— This sessions was recorded live at State of the Map US 2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Hosted by OpenStreetMap US, the annual State of the Map US conference is the largest gathering of OpenStreetMap community members from across the United States. The Salesforce Tower Top art project is a partnership between Jim Campbell Studio and BXP/Boston Properties.
