2/2 #OTD 2015 We headed back to the Distillery for a fantastic tour of the facility , needless to say some sampling of the product was called for.... Ashok and Surrinder were the perfect hosts !

#OTD 2015 we were been given the full Tour of the Amrut Distillery by Ashok and Surrinder . We started the day off on Amrut's Farm , their water source and got to enjoy milk from freshly cut Coconuts from their own Trees ! 1/2

#OTD 2015 Had our first #Amrut in India , in the Hotel where we were staying which was built on the site of the Original Amrut Distillery , It was a fusion BTW.....

It's hard to believe 10 years have passed since we left Newcastle Airport on our Great Indian Adventure (via Dubai ) including a visit to a well known Indian Distillery, it would be Sunday Morning (we left on Saturday Lunchtime) before we arrived in Bengaluru !

Last Amrut of the night, Another Single Cask, this time a Port Pipe (#2713) and Peated ! 59%ABV and the perfect match of Spirit and cask, 4yo , extremely fruity (dark) and works well in every department !

Now the (then) Standard Peated Cask Strength (62.8%) Amrut, Yup it's peaty , Again Millionaires Shortbread, liquorice, vanilla and Lemon. Again smooth across the palate and chewy . Yup they sure can do peated whisky in India.....

Onto the standard Unpeated release at Cask Strength from a few years ago, 61.8% ABV, actually get Millionaires Shortbread, a touch of spices and liquorice, silky smooth across the palate but very chewy on the finish. Wonderful, exotic dram !

Amrut at its purest, Unpeated spirit from a Single Bourbon Cask (#3437)at 62.8% . 4yo and full of Amrut loveliness, liquorice, spices, vanilla, and lots of fruitiness ! These Single casks were fantastic, I was lucky enough to get to try a few on the side....

Next up The Naarangi , a Sherry Cask Filled with Oloroso and infused with Orange peel for 2 years , then emptied and filled with Amrut Spirit. A wonderful Sherried Orange dram , a great mixture of Orange, Sherry and Amrut . A very Easy going dram !

Well it's Amrut Friday ! Starting off with the Double Cask, Unpeated malt from 1 Bourbon and 1 PX Sherry Cask bottled in 2016. Lots going on in the glass , typical Amrut ! Sherry, Dark Fruits, Spices, Well balanced .
