Subject: Do Not Auction Off Canada's History - Especially Not Indigenous Heritage To the Executives and Ownership of Hudson's Bay Company, What you are attempting to do is beyond shameful. It is an act of cultural desecration. Let's be absolutely clear: you do not have the moral right-or the cultural legitimacy-to auction off Canadian heritage, especially not sacred Indigenous artifacts, just because the company now falls under American ownership and is in financial turmoil. These items are not corporate assets. They are sacred. They are historical. They are stolen. And they belong to the people of this land, not the balance sheet of a bankrupt foreign corporation. To even consider selling off rare Indigenous artifacts-many of which were taken or acquired under deeply unethical circumstances as if they were designer handbags or discounted furniture is absolutely disgusting. You are desecrating the legacy of generations, erasing history for profit, and violating the trust of communities who have already suffered more than enough. There should be no debate, no auction, and no hesitation: these items must be returned to the Indigenous communities they were taken from or preserved in national museums where Canadians not corporate bidders can determine their future. This is not just morally wrong. It's colonialism 2.0- looting cultural artifacts for capital gain under the guise of bankruptcy. You may legally own the HBC brand, but you do not own Canada's story. You do not own Indigenous cultures. You do not get to make this decision. If you continue down this vile path, you will go down in history as the company that tried to liquidate a nation's soul. You will face widespread public outcry, potential legal action, and total cultural condemnation. Do the right thing: Cancel this auction. Return the items. Preserve the history. Respect the people. If you have any shred of decency left, prove it now. Sincerely, An extremely pissed off Canadian.
Use your voice Canada and stand up for what’s right.
