A cold breeze blew down the pitch, initially in Buccaneers favour. David Whitten opened the scoring for Inst Instonians opened the scoring after only 2 minutes when David Whitten score. Club U16 Plate: Carrickfergus 7 Instonians 12 We took in the 2nd games of a triple header at Meadowbank Arena, Magherafelt, when Carrick played Instonians in the Under 16 Plate Final. A large crowd watched the game in ideal sunny conditions. Aidan Notorantonio opened the scoring for Inst It was a free flowing 1st half, with attacks not frightened to throw the ball about. Defences were on top until moments before halftime, when Aidan Notorantonio crashed over for the opening score.

AIL 2A: Instonians 38 Greystones 22 We caught up with the AIL 2A league match between Instonians and Greystones on Saturday afternoon at Shaws Bridge with Instonians looking fir a win to secure promotion for a remarkable fourth consecutive season. In mixed weather conditions, a big crowd were treated to a super exhibition of rugby. The visitors were the first to get on the scoreboard with a forward maul taking them across the line with No 3, Conor Pearse getting up with the ball for a 0 - 5 lead.

Bateman Cup: Instonians 26 Lansdowne 38 Final On Saturday afternoon Instonians travelled to Dublin to play Lansdowne on the Aviva Stadium back pitch beneath the looming presence of the south stand, in the Bateman Cup Final. Following a yellow card to Ian Whitten, Donough Lawlor squeezed in for the opening try, converted by Stephen Madigan, with 4 minutes on the board to give Lansdowne a 7-0 lead.

Senior Cup: Instonians 10 City of Armagh 20 Quarter Final On Saturday at lunchtime Instonians faced City of Armagh in a Senior Cup Quarter Final Tie at Shawsbridge. A strong, bitingly cold wind, which blew down the pitch caused handling and kicking issues. Armagh played with the wind in the 1st half. Armagh took the lead on 9 minutes courtesy of a Kyle Faloon short range penalty goal to lead 3-0.
