The intelligence cycle needs to be updated. We need an additional point after dissemination where the administration fires someone for providing intelligence, which contradicts the bombastic pronouncements of POTUS. #IntelStudies

Hi #intelstudies #spyhistory folk. Does anybody have any suggestions for online sources regarding the OSS and David KE Bruce?
In the last decade, Bletchley Park has become the site of dozens of works of romantic fiction. Dr Thomas Knowles and I wrote about it here.

A case study in pathological lying: how much did Kim Philby see of or interact with Donald Maclean after Maclean's recruitment in 1934?
This should be a simple question. But Philby ensures it is anything but. A quick chronology.

Kim Philby's contribution to tradecraft, don't live near the formidable Jane Archer. KV 2/4737, second interrogation of Kim Philby, 9 January 1963.

National Archives, Kew, KV 2/4705, Arthur Martin notes on his interrogation of Anthony Blunt, 27.4.64.
Confirmation of what has been suspected/known for a long time, the Cambridge "Ring of Five" was a Soviet construction, that the actual members did not recognise it as such. As far as Blunt was concerned a Ring should all know about each other, Cairncross did not. KV 2/4705

Hi #IntelStudies, History and #UKHE folk generally.
What do you think about text books/general histories in terms of original research? How much archival stuff is needed to make it worth doing, if any? Does it need to be evenly distributed or can some chapters be primary heavy & others less so?
I created the Intelligence Studies feed on @bsky.app to track posts from users who frequently share content on #intelligence and #intelstudies. You can add this to your timeline as a new feed (just 'pin to your home'). Feel free to suggest accounts posting on intelligence.
