Everyday, everywhere in the US, are people driving and thinking that 5, 10, and even 36 mph over the speed limit is fine. #SafeInfrastructure #IntelligentSpeedAssist and #SafeSystemsApproach needed now. We need a #Paradigm shift from #Motonormativity to #SafeStreets4All.
#IntelligentSpeedAssist needed now
Something that #IntelligentSpeedAssist could solve. You can drive from the Midwest to the East Coast, with cruise control set on the speed limit, and be passed by over 95 percent of drivers. Unless there is a law enforcement vehicle present and visible most drivers do not slow down for work zones.
Yes, we need #SafeSystemsApproach enacted, with #IntelligentSpeedAssist and #AutomaticEmergncyBraking. Habitual offenders laws need to be passed/enforced. #SpeedKills
Also, data that can be used in support of enacting regulation requiring automakers to install #IntelligentSpeedAssist?

Let us know when they get to lowering speed limits, speed cameras, #IntelligentSpeedAssist, better design of infrastructure, and keeping #DangerousByDesign vehicles of the road. I think you did mention that they did talk about Automatic Emergency Braking?
Where are the crosswalks located? What is the speed limit on this road? What speed was the driver traveling? What is the condition of the vehicle's brakes? Have there been previous crashes in this location? Could #IntelligentSpeedAssist and #AutomaticEmergencyBraking have prevented the crash?
'Kindermoord' continues unobstructed in the US as a result of dangerous streets and some drivers of lethal vehicles exercising their 'freedumb'. #SafeInstructureDesign #IntelligentSpeedAssist and #AuomaticEmergencyBraking now. #SafeSystemsApproach #SafeStreets4All
More 'Kindermoord' in the USA today. We need change to happen at a faster pace. #AutomaticEmergencyBraking #IntelligentSpeedAssist #StopBuildingDangerousByDesignVehicles 'There Are No Accidents' @jessiesinger.bsky.social
Also, will this let lawmakers off the hook when it comes to requiring automakers to install #AutomaticEmergencyBraking and #IntelligentSpeedAssist in vehicles? Majority of drivers exceeding speed limit, not stopping at stop signs, and some running red lights, dangerous to people walking/biking.
To me it is all about where we emphasize priority, traffic enforcement, and education, are only a part of the solution. We need a #SafeSystemsApproach, prioritizing safe infrastructure design, #IntelligentSpeedAssist #AutomaticEmergencyBraking, safer vehicle design, and less VMT.
Yes, and why we need #IntelligentSpeedAssist #AutomaticEmergencyBraking on all new cars and trucks in North America. People driving in my suburban neighborhood just can't seem to drive at or under the 25 mph speed limit. My granddaughter points out the speeding drivers to me during our bike rides.
What?, "His truck had 80 speeding and red light violations as well as obscured license plates."? Government failure. Lack of enforcement, lax laws/policy, continue to result in preventable traffic crash fatalities. Also, see #IntelligentSpeedAssist recommended by #NTSB @jenniferhomendy.bsky.social
Yes, PSAs not effective, #IntelligentSpeedAssist #AotimaticEmergencyBraking, #IgnitionInterlock for drunk driving offenders. Drunk and excessive speeding, just impound the vehicle on the spot. We need improved design of infrastructure, new policy/laws, and reduction of VMT.
