Yesterday (31/01) was International Zebra Day so in our Wednesday session the children did activities all about zebras. They gave their own zebra some stripes, played pin the tail on the zebra and even did a zebra quiz.

“If you experience technical difficulties when you look at this herd of zebras on Africa’s Serengeti Plain, please bear with us – the trouble is not in your set. It’s a tropical optical illusion, an equatorial pictorial puzzle of equivocal equinal elements, a stripey smorgasbord of scrambled silhouettes, an amorphous ambulatory aggregation of undulating ungulates: op art on the hoof. How many hooves in the herd? You really want to know? Well, first you have to count the zebras……” - Charley Harper

Transformation sequence of the Lycanroc me being turned and geared up into my black rubber zebra. The roc finds himself on a conveyor belt and being moved through a processing line to be equipped and suited up as the equine. He steps on horse hooves and nuzzles start spraying liquid latex on him. They start at the feet and move up. His dick being converted into a nulge, bandages attached to his lower legs and tail and a strap-on dildo is being attached. More and more gear being applied and the nuzzles move further up. A Harness, cuffs and belts being applied till they are about to finish with his head. The latex gets sprayed up his cheeks, the chaotic mohawk being shaved down to a flat one and coloured black and a lighter black. A neck corset being applied, and the pony mask moved onto his face before it seals with the sprayed-on rubber. The pony is complete, but there is no sign of the zebra, so the laser burn the dark stripes onto the rubber, before a leash is being attached on its harness, and it is pulled through the facility.
Happy #InternationalZebraDay! 🦓
Months ago, I sketched this transformation sequence of the roc being turned into the black rubber zebra. One day, I'll finish it.
(Btw, I always write alt text to describe the image and more information)

Zebras may look calm & elegant, but surviving in the wild takes toughness. Across Africa, they travel long distances for food & water—moving from open plains to steep mountain terrain.
Mountain zebras live above 6,500 feet, with hooves adapted for climbing rocky slopes. ⛰️

Happy International Zebra Day. This photo was taken in Kenya a decade ago. During that adventure I was able to visit with Grevys Zebra Trust & interview the director. It was during that discussion I learned how much the zebra was like family to the pastoralists.

We're ending January with International Zebra Day! I don't see the plains zebra enough, so it only felt right. Even if it is Yet Another Horse on my list. Second this month, more to come... but enjoy the stripy donkey!
