I'm really delighted by the decision to expand the show's world a bit here. The anime's first two episodes were nearly devoid of anything *but* Ruri and Nagi's mineral expeditions. Here we meet one of Ruri's colleagues, Imari Youko, and since we've roped a third person into this setup, the scope of the show expands too. The entire iron mine trip is lovely but obviously the bit at the end with the Flourite vein is the episode's apex. We have an actual cliffhanger of sorts at the end and I really cannot wait to see what else this show has in store. Also it is worth restating that Nagi remains like, devastatingly hot. Anime woman of the year.
