Trump admits Russia was interfering in the US election in 2014. He CLAIMS that was "long before" he announced another run for President. Even if true, that hardly exonerates him. However, Trump ran in 2000 on Perot's old ticket. And, Trump clearly began his 2016 campaign by September 2014, as his MAGA tweet here proves.
Trump admitted that Russia was acting as an enemy of the United States as of 2014. Trump has given Russia aid and comfort within the US, protecting it from sanctions and other actions in response to its warfare here and against Ukraine. Nowhere is a declaration of war required.
In August 2020, the Senate Select Committee confirmed that Trump asked for and received disqualifying help in the 2016 election. As the other evidence shows, at the time of the election, Trump was already INELIGIBLE to hold ANY office in the United States. Since he was not legally in office at the time, there is NO "Presidential Immunity" for ANYTHING he has done. Yet, the GOP know this and refuse to uphold the Constitution, making them accomplices, and also traitors, which means that their OWN actions since 2016 (if not earlier) render them ineligible to hold office. But we can't just act as if the criminals will turn themselves in and stop committing treason out of the alleged goodness of their alleged hearts. We must #ProsecuteTheCase. Is THAT why so many PodBros were afraid of former prosecutor Vice President Harris???
Another reason the long-term policy HAS to go beyond simple impeachment of Putin's Puppet. We must actively #InvalidateTrump & everything he's done and will do while impersonating a legally-elected official. Trump has confessed to treason. GOP proved it.
