The difference is Japan have got on with playing skillful rugby. Ireland have faffed about with poor skill levels kicking away possession to play a territorial game that Japan are winning by holding onto the ball.

At the start of this series, was worried Ireland could lose 3 of 4 without meaningful squad development. After that half, I’m worried it’ll be 4 from 4 without meaningful development and, man, there’s some lads having poor games and all but the hubris from the coaches is palpable… #IREvJPN
