Didn't get to post about anything related to #Eastercon2026 today as I was too busy enjoying it (and being very tired) but I got to attend some great talks *and* had a fantastic time on the Playing in the Apocalypse panel with my lovely co-pannelists (and mod!) #Iridescence

The surviving in a cartoon world was an excuse for and academic to show off cool science experiments. Worked fine.
Then a game of Pirate Borg. 4 players - 2 teenage girls and 2 grogs. Was fine. Most coherent game so far.
decidedto call it at 19:30. Long day. No last panel.

I played in a game of MORK ORG a derivative based in office politics. Written by the same guy that did the panel last night. More Silly Tie type stuff. The whole set-up starts gonzo. 6 players. I tried to stay quiet to give him an cnance of managing everything. That seemed to work. 1/x

My shoulder bag (20 years of Furnace) was a bit heavy yesterday so I’d decided to bring my wheely suitcase today and all the games I could offer.
Then I realised it looks like no-one’s going to sign up ad hoc for any of my games so instead I’ve stripped back what I’m carrying.

BTW It’s a 3hr game of “Wildsea” at 16:30 and a 3hr game of Blades in the Dark at 19:30. Not sure when I’m going to eat but some things are more important.

Just had a chat with a passerby who saw my set-up. He hasn’t role-played in many years. Doesn’t have the time. I sweet talked him about me being able to bang though an unforgettable adventure in under an hour. He may come back at some point during the weekend.

I had nothing to do TTRPG-wise over Easter. (I didn’t spot #Kraken but it would probably have been too expensive.) I found #Eastercon (which IS #Iridescence - go figure).
Then got caught up in my head with the all SciFi con idea and forgot all I wanted was to play games.

Arrived at #iridescence #Eastercon2026, checked into the room, and got down to the first vital point of business; inspecting the tea and coffee making facilities. Proper coffee bags this time, they are learning!
I've just been reminded #Iridescence, the 77th annual British Science Fiction Convention, is about to be held six miles from my home. I wish everyone attending -- guests, con team and regular members -- a great weekend, but regret I won't be joining them. Sadly, I suspect such events are in my past.
