Returning down Lee Brook past Lee Farm, suddenly came across a pillow case full of jewellery stuck against a fallen tree across the current! Lugged it home in case anyone wants to claim? Any recent thefts in #Freckenham #Isleham? Mute Swan outriders led way on the last leg. 7/7
Upstream of Lee Farm, Lee Brook full of Crowfoot, Willow Moss (Fontinalis antipyretica)?, Lesser Water-parsnip (Berula erecta) & other water plants as a #Chalkstream should be. Why not downstream also?

Big Perch (c40cm) under house boats in River Lark (9.5°C) bounding Isleham Marina which had amazing densities of fish today, especially Roach. Also Pike, Chub, Bitterling, Minnow etc #MySwim #RiverLark #Isleham #Cambridgeshire #Suffolk #Fenland #Chalkstreams @Britnatureguide 1/3

Soham Washes looking tempting from Isleham Lock.
Quite choppy on the swim back down the S arm of the River Lark to the weir, with wind blown gulls heading to roost as the sun sank.

Amazing swarms of fish fry, including Bleak & Minnow, in the reeds of the River Lark upstream of Isleham lock. A 1m Pike accompanied me part of the way. Canada Geese, Mute Swans & Moorhens kept an eye on me.

At confluence of Lark & #GreatOuse, where Great Crested Grebes fish overshadowed by the mighty 20m hill topped by #Littleport water tower, where once the sign must have pointed to #BuryStEdmunds, 25 miles away, now it is only to #Isleham, a destination for pleasure cruisers. 4/7
