A painting by Ithell Colquhoun: I didn't make a note of its title but it's a landscape created using the decalcomania method (that's putting wet paint on one sheet of paper, then pressing down another sheet of paper on top and peeling it off).

Enjoyed the #IthellColquhoun show at Tate Britain. Her work is pleasingly varied, although being a surrealist, she was keen on sticking phallic and yonic (is that the word?) imagery everywhere, so it's a bit What Does This Obviously Remind You Of in places.

Been thinking how #IthellColquhoun Dreaming Leap seems to echo #EvelynDeMorgan Storm Spirits, in colour & construction. They both attended the Slade & were esotericists so perhaps Colquhoun knew of De Morgan #preraphaelite #esotericism @preraphaelitesoc.bsky.social @demorganfoundation.bsky.social
