Keith always hated watching himself play — especially Boiler Room sets — but I think this one is pretty special. Thanks to my childhood pal Chris Dailly for sharing it, and for the lovely message you sent via his page, which I read to him about a month ago.
On the day Keith was transferred from the nursing home to the hospice, he was sitting in the lounge watching one of his Boiler Room sets on the big TV with Julienne Dessagne and Sharon, one of the wonderful carers at Kelvinside Manor. Sharon had put it on because she wanted to understand more about what he did. It was such a beautiful moment, seeing the three of them watch together.
The staff who cared for him at both Kelvinside Manor and the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, along with extra meals, outings and support from loving friends, made sure Keith’s final weeks were filled with care and dignity. Added to that were the countless messages of love I shared with him whenever I could — to each one he would respond, “I feel the love.”
Keith truly was surrounded by love to the very end. Thank you to everyone who shared messages, support, and organised fundraisers in his name. 💛
