Both of these were a bit different. The Seamstress of Acadie begins with the expulsion of the Acadians from Nova Scotia after the French/English war, and New Arrivals on West India Dock Road is set just before the Indian Uprising fighting against English rule. The one thing they have in common is strong female characters.
